Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Loyal-Leash

Does this harm your dog?

We worked with veterinarians and dog trainers alike, and both agreed that when used properly, Loyal Leash is a safe and effective way to train your dog. Loyal Leash should never be used to harm your dog and we recommend you always start on static level 1 (very mild stimulant, almost like an inching sensation) and increase as needed until the correction level gets your dog’s attention.

Remember, always use voice commands, lots of praise, and even more treats when your dog responds correctly.

Is this a shock collar?

This was a huge concern and a topic of deep discussion that dominated the early stages of our development. Our goal was to deliver stress free dog walks for the entire family. Yet we realize that some dogs are simply so excited to go on a walk that it becomes too much for the novice dog owner to control. These dogs sometimes fall into categories such as: neglect (left behind on walks and family outings), abuse due to the frustration of tugging and pulling, or even surrendered to shelters because they are too difficult to walk. Therefore we decided to add an optional static correction. This feature can be turned on or off and has fully adjustable levels of correction.

We also dove deep into the standard e-collar system to improve its capability and successfully developed our patented Smart-Teach collar system that focuses on training the dog to respond to the “beep” sound as quickly as possible. This is done by sounding the beep signal before each warning or correction signal. This allows the dog hear and react to the beep sound and not depend on a correction. Once fully trained the static correction is turned off and should never be needed again.

Can I still use my harness?

Yes! In fact, for large powerful dogs, it may be a good idea during the training period. Simply attach the Loyal Leash to your existing harness, then put the Loyal leash Smart-Teach Collar on your dog’s neck. The control handle is still fully functional in “Auto Mode” and “Manual Mode.”

How long do I need to charge it before using?

We recommend you charge both the collar and handle for 60 to 90 minutes before the first use. Do not allow the battery to drain to zero before recharging. We recommend charging after every use.

How long does it take to fully train your dog with Loyal Leash?

Of course, all dogs are different and results will vary, our studies showed dogs that are already trained to invisible/hidden fence systems, or e-collars experience almost immediate results. Dogs can be trained in a boring environment with no distractions within 15-20 minutes. Then slowly introduce them to more stimulating environments. Patience and consistency is key.

How does it work?

It works using the same training priciples as an invisible fence, only Loyal Leash uses sensors in the handle to detect tugging and pulling and automatically sends signals to your dog’s collar. It can also be used in “Manual Mode” allowing you to have total control by simply pressing a button. When you press the button, a corresponding signal will be sent to the dog’s collar.

Changing the way we walk our dogs one at a time.
